Elementary

Charyl Stockwell Academy Elementary School

Our elementary school-aged students receive a rigorous, developmentally appropriate education that is differentiated to meet the needs of each child. We provide a need-fulfilling environment that educates the whole child, while holding high expectations for each student’s academic and intellectual learning.
We offer
four Kindergarten options.

The CSA Elementary mission is to provide a safe and enriching place for children to grow, develop, and achieve. In our wholesome setting, we use developmentally appropriate and innovative learning activities that promote intellectual development and moral excellence.

Our classrooms consist of multi-age groups of students taught by highly certified teachers in a team-teaching model. Small teacher-student ratios promote classrooms with a collaborative and cooperative atmosphere, and richly differentiated instruction.

Our teachers use research-based best practices in instruction. They construct highly engaging, active experiences that balance formative and summative assessments with student interest. In lower elementary classrooms, instruction is focused on literacy and mathematics competency development. In upper elementary classrooms, the emphasis shifts from learning to read to using reading to learn. Literacy and mathematics concepts are integrated through social studies and science content. The elementary program also offers art, music and physical education.

Kindergarten
Options

We understand that children start their educational journey at different levels of learning and understanding. We meet them at their current level of learning and move them forward. We offer these options:

Full-Day
Kindergarten

Students attend school on the CSA Elementary schedule: full day Monday through Thursday and half day on Friday.

Transitional Kindergarten

For children who would benefit from a gradual entry to school. At the beginning of the year, they attend school half-time and gradually increase to full-time.

Advanced Kindergarten

A full-day option for children who are reading and understand beginning number concepts.

Young
Fives

A bridge between preschool and Kindergarten that gives children an extra year to grow physically, socially, emotionally, and academically. Students may attend full-time or on a transitional schedule.
