Student Enrichment Program
The Student Enrichment Program is a multi-faceted umbrella program that oversees all before school and after school programs at Charyl Stockwell Academy.
The components of the program are:
Student Connection & Teen Scene – State of Michigan licensed before and after school childcare program. Our experienced staff is educated in child development and works hard to plan fun and interesting activities with our students to help children develop socially and emotionally, in large and small motor, as well to challenge their thinking outside of the classroom. The Student Connection & Teen Scene programs follow the philosophy and mission of CSA. Staff members are CPR and First Aid certified, and are required to earn 12 clock hours per year, every year in child development and school-age programming classes. Student Connection & Teen Scene is a fee-based service.
Athletics – CSA is a member of the Mid-Michigan Independent Athletic Association (MMIAA). Athletic teams include boys’ and girls’ soccer, basketball, cheer team and parent-led cross country. Sports are open to students in Explorer (5th grade) through High School. Athletics is a fee-based activity.
Short Watch – Before and after school extensions of carpool. Enrolled students are required to attend all five days of the week, Monday through Friday. Short Watch is a free service for families registered in the Student Enrichment Program.
Enrichments – After school Enrichment Activities provide an enriching experience for children in a safe place. Activities include but are not limited to:
| Ball Camp |
Odyssey of the Mind |
| Lego League |
Chess Club |
| Tae Kwon Do |
Creative Expressions |
| Math Pentathlon |
|
All Enrichment Activities are carefully researched before they are offered at CSA. Some are run by qualified vendors with experience in that area, others by enthusiastic parents. All adults are interviewed to match the philosophies of CSA and have had a complete background check. Enrichment activities are fee-based.
Student Enrichment Fee: Attendance in any before and after school programming requires registration in the Student Enrichment Program and payment of a $50 non-refundable annual family registration fee. Once registered as a family, students may enroll in individual programs as described above. Many of the activities themselves then require an additional participation/enrollment fee.
