Executive Director's Message
Welcome to the Charyl Stockwell Academy.
The mission of the Charyl Stockwell Academy is to provide a safe place for children to grow and learn from childhood to adolescence. We are deeply concerned with providing a need-fulfilling environment, based on high expectations for quality work and academic performance that educates the whole child.
Our educational model addresses the intellectual, social/emotional, physical, and character development of each individual child. The educational methodologies we use are grounded in best educational practice, supported by extensive research. Our school stands for intellectual rigor within a warm and nurturing environment, free of coercive methods and interventions with children. Research on the brain and learning presents compelling evidence that children must feel emotionally safe in a school setting in order to fully maximize their learning potential.
We utilize a continuous progress/mastery learning model, with a component for the academically gifted student, to insure intellectual rigor. We promote methods that build upon every child’s intrinsic motivation to learn to insure an emotionally safe and need-fulfilling environment. We have infused a strong character education program to insure that a child’s moral development is addressed within the school curriculum.
Our academy offers parents a quality choice for their child’s education from kindergarten through 8th grade. The learning culture at CSA has a private school “feel” at a public school expense: no tuition.
We are very proud of what our school stands for in the public school arena today. It is a viable choice for discerning parents who are looking for a school with a strong and vital mission to provide a quality school program that meets the educational needs of all students who attend our school.
I hope that you will take a few minutes to learn more about the Charyl Stockwell Academy and schedule a tour to see our educational model in practice!
Sincerely,
Shelley Stockwell
Executive Director
