Instrumental Music Program

Explorer Band
The Explorer Band open to students in their last year at CSA Elementary School and run through the after school Student Enrichment Program. Students  have the opportunity to learn wind and percussion instruments in a small group prior to the start of middle school. This beginning group of musicians performs at two evening concerts.

MS band close upMiddle School Concert Band
This ensemble is open to all middle school students. No previous experience is necessary to join. Students learn a wide variety of music genres,  basic music theory and music history, and work diligently to incorporate and relate to the Middle School curriculum. During the year, this ensemble performs three evening concerts as well as at the CSPA Volunteer Tea, a special CSA performance and pep band opportunities.

High School Chamber Winds
This ensemble is open to all high school students.  The middle school band experience is recommended but not required. Students play different music genres and increase their knowledge of music theory, aural skills and music history while working diligently to incorporate and relate to the High School curriculum. During the year, this ensemble performs three evening concerts as well as at the CSPA Volunteer Tea and has the flexibility to perform at other events such as Board Meetings, recruitment concerts and special school sponsored events.

CSPA Band-a

Sentinel Pep Band
This band was created to help promote school spirit, pride, and tradition at Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy. The group performs at a select number of CSPA home basketball games.  In order to make this ensemble successful, membership in Chamber Winds Ensemble is required. Exceptions are students who are directly involved in athletics/cheer team. Performance details/game schedule are announced during the year.

CSPA Session Players
honors ensembleThis ensemble is open all CSPA students, first year middle school students through high school seniors. Students interested in participating must audition at the beginning of the school year.  The main focus of the group is to enhance musical skills while concentrating on specific genres of music, primarily blues, jazz, pop, etc. Rehearsals are held after school.During the year, this ensemble performs several times including evening concerts, special CSPA performances and community outreach concerts.

Sentinel Honors Ensemble
This advanced group is open to high school students in the Chamber Winds Ensemble. During the year,  they perform at evening concerts, community outreach concerts, Board meetings, CSPA banquets and other special events.
